For the last three days, I was in Atlanta, GA taping short video segments on gardening for the Fiskars.com website which will be posted bimonthly starting in early 2009. Our goal was to work through a list of 24 topics but because of some really crazy weather over those days, taping outdoors was far more challenging that anyone had ever anticipated.
Ironically, the Fiskars crew assumed that Atlanta’s weather would be tamer for outdoor shooting in late October than Madison, WI where they’re based. And they were partially right because it was snowing there. However, with Atlanta temperatures in the 30’s and a wind advisory in effect for both days of taping, Mother Nature was not shining too brightly on us either. Fortunately, thanks to an experienced and well equipped crew, we managed to knock out a bunch of the segments and we’ll get the rest in a couple of months when we reconvene in Florida for another Project Orange Thumb Community Garden installation on December 11. I do look forward to seeing these videos posted starting next year. They are all taped in HD (high definition) format with a full production crew for lighting and sound too. They should be very nice quality. Not sure about the host though, but I guess we’ll know more about how well he did once these videos hit the net.
See you back here tomorrow and I’ll fill you in on the all new joegardener.com and podcast. Both are up live now if you want to check it out ahead of time. JL
